1962 MGA MKII Restoration
My latest MGA. I did not intent to start another MGA project, but the first was so much fun and I had a lot of extra parts that other people offered me a prices I couldn't refuse. I also like a challenge....
| As found, behind the same shop as the other MGA, but in a slightly drier spot. Only one fender, no interior, no boot lid. | ![]() |
| Most of the boot floor is gone. 35 years outdoors is rough on a car. | ![]() |
| The NC Division of Motor Vehicles had the complete title history of the car since December 1961. The last titled owner (1972) helped me get a current title in my name! He did not know what happened to the car after it was hauled away for parts. | ![]() |
| After straightening out the front, most of the metal had to be cut out. The collision damage on the front happened in early 1971- the last time the car was driven. | ![]() |
| Almost everything painted is new metal. | ![]() |
| Left A pillar. | ![]() |
| Collision damage and rust ruined the rear shroud and boot floor. | ![]() |
| The metal replacement is finally finished. you can see the new sills, boot floor and rear shroud. | ![]() |
| Removing paint. | ![]() |
| Fender patching is finally finished. The car is almost ready for the primer surfacer. | ![]() |
| Restoration Finished! |
